Atlanta Falcons Should Fire Dave Ragone Offensive Coordinator – Response to Comments

During the Atlanta Falcons’ terrible preseason offensive against the Tennessee Titans that resulted in a half-time performance where basic football was so lacking in execution that AJ McCarron made 3 out of 10 passes for 23 yards.

For the game, McCarron was 5 of 12 for 36 yards and his replacement Feleipe Franks was 2 of 9 for 16 yards. The pass rating for the duo was an embarrassing 22.52.

With such a poor performance, eyes are on the offensive coordinator. Dave Ragone’s job is to ensure that all offensive players play the games that the offensive staff installs – he, Ragone, is the chief of staff, in the final word from head coach Arthur Smith. Smith names the games, but that’s different from coaching the players and installing the games. That falls to Ragone.

This is his first job as the NFL Offensive Coordinator. He was passing game coordinator for the Chicago Bears for several years, then quarterbacks coach, before serving as receiver coach, quality control coach and quarterbacks coach, before being promoted to passing game coordinator with the Bears.

Both Smith and Ragone need to understand that more is expected at this level than is presented. The Titans Offense, coached by Todd Downing as Offensive Coordinator, showed that the former Raiders assistant has come a long way from his first deployment in 2017. The attention to detail in the line blocking and timing was evident. The hawks might take note of that.

For the most part, the people who have posted comments have no idea what an offensive coordinator does. Her words showed just that.

Stay tuned.

Note from Zennie62Media and This video blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media, Inc. network for video blogging systems for mobile media launched in June 2018 by Zennie62Media, Inc .s new and innovative approach to news media production. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a YouTube channel. When the video is “liked” by Zennie62 YouTube, it is automatically uploaded to the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-created and custom social media pages and automatically formatted there. The overall goal here is, in addition to our smartphone-enabled real-time reporting of news, interviews, observations and events anywhere in the world and within seconds, not hours – the use of the existing YouTube social graphic on any topic in the world. Now messages are reported with the smartphone and also by advertising current content on YouTube: There is no need for heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop or a camera team to film what is already on YouTube. The secondary goal is faster and very inexpensive production and distribution of media content. We found that there is a discrepancy between post length and time to product and revenue generated. This means that the problem is much smaller, but by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system’s network encoding and is looking for interested content and media technology partners.
