Oakland News Now – CHOPMASTER J SNUBBED FROM OAKLAND EVENT – Video from YouTube channel in the upper left corner of the video.

In honor of the digital underground Shock G

Chopmaster J – co-founder of groundbreaking hip-hop group Digital Underground – has been ordered to stay away from an event in honor of the group and their late co-founder, Shock G … and he’s certainly not happy about it.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … Chopmaster J was thrilled to learn that the City of Oakland would be honoring the group and Shock G at a citywide event last weekend. The day included a Digital Underground Day of Proclamation.

The problem is … we were told that a former band manager reached out to CJ and told him that he was NOT welcome to the event. Which makes matters worse … we were told that the City of Oakland’s Digital Underground Day of Proclamation was only supposed to highlight Shock G, not CJ.

Digital Underground broke up in 2008 after an argument between Chopmaster J and Shock G … but we were told that they didn’t speak for years after the split but still considered each other to be brothers outside of the group. Shock G died in April.

Chopmaster J – together with his son, who is called SOTU – formed a new group … DU Next Generation.

We were told that Chopmaster J is disappointed that his contributions to the group’s legacy are not even mentioned in the proclamation. The language is exclusive to Shock G … although August 25, 2021 is planned as Digital Underground Day in Oakland.

There is hope that things can be corrected. We have been told that Chopmaster J has reached out to city officials, and so far Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf has responded, telling us that the city is currently discussing a separate proclamation for Digital Underground mentioning Chopmaster J.

Note from Zennie62Media’s Zennie62Media YouTube blog and the Oakland News Now Today SF Bay Area blog:: This video blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media, Inc. network for video blogging Mobile Media Systems, which launched in June 2018. This is an integral part of Zennie62Media, Inc.’s new and innovative approach to news media production. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a YouTube channel. When the video is “liked” by Zennie62 YouTube, it is automatically uploaded to the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-created and custom social media pages and automatically formatted there. The overall goal here is, in addition to our smartphone-enabled real-time reporting of news, interviews, observations and events anywhere in the world and within seconds, not hours – the use of the existing YouTube social graphic on any topic in the world. Now messages are reported with the smartphone and also by advertising current content on YouTube: There is no need for heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop or a camera team to film what is already on YouTube. The secondary goal is faster and very inexpensive production and distribution of media content. We found that there is a discrepancy between post length and time to product and revenue generated. This means that the problem is much smaller, but by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system’s network encoding and is looking for interested content and media technology partners.
