Early Morning Shootout in Oakland Kills Transgender Particular person; 129th Homicide of the 12 months – CBS San Francisco

OAKLAND (CBS SF) – A shooting in downtown Oakland early Friday morning claimed the life of a transgender adult in the city’s 129th murder of the year, police said.

Just after 4 a.m., officials were called to the 1400 block on Castro Street near Interstate 980 over reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with obvious gunshot wounds.

The victim was declared dead at the scene, the police said. Your identity will be withheld until the next of kin have been notified.
