Oakland is a great community, and recent efforts to provide additional financial support to further expand the service demonstrate a commitment to maintaining, expanding and delivering quality services. My duty to the city’s staff is to ensure that staff are trained, given clear instructions, provided the tools necessary to get a job done, and recognized for their good work. ”

Mr. Duffey holds a BA in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Redlands and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of California San Bernardino.

The city would like to thank David Ferguson, who served as the department’s interim director last year.
