April 18th was a little chilly, but the services at Oakland Baptist Church were warm and welcoming. We began our hymn service with the call to worship “The Family of God”. Special music from the Mathis family, “Until the storm passes” and “Where could I go except to the Lord?”. At the end of the hymn service, the congregation sang, “I stand on Jordan’s stormy banks.” Brother. Don’s message “Life, Light, Lamb, Lord” came from John 1.
“In the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, and without Him nothing was done that was made. In Him was life and life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not understand, ”John 1: 1-5.
The word is life, life is light. The light is the lamb. The lamb is the lord.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, the glory as the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John testified of him and cried, “This was him, of whom I said,“ He who comes after me is preferred to me because he was before me. “And of his abundance we all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. The only-begotten Son, who is in the womb of the Father, has him proclaimed, ”John 1: 14-18.
The next day John saw Jesus coming towards him and said: ‘Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is Him of whom I said, “After me comes a man who is preferred over me, for He was before me.” I did not know him. but that he might be revealed to Israel, I came and baptized with water. ‘And John testified, saying, “I saw the Spirit come down and abide on him, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.” And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God. The next day, John was back with two disciples. And looking at Jesus walking, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God,” John 1: 29-36.
In these passages, John reveals who Jesus is, what he came to do, and what impact he had on other people’s lives. Life, light, lamb. Mr.
Life is personified in Jesus. Life is humanized – He became flesh. Life is immortal. Our life is viewed from birth to death. But the life of Jesus is eternal. God is eternal. Life is internalized. John was given the mission to help people understand what it is like to walk with Jesus. John had come to this great understanding that he had to help others who came after him to understand what he had experienced – to feel it internally.
The light shines in the dark, but is not understood. The light is really illuminating, but unloved. The light manifests glory, but it comes in and goes in.
“There was a man sent by God called John. This man came to bear testimony, to testify of the light, so that all could believe through him. He was not that light, but was sent to testify of that light. That was the true light that gives light to everyone who comes into the world, ”John 1: 6-9.
“The glory of God enlightened it. The Lamb is its light,” Revelation 21:23
The light not only revealed sin, it removed sin. John testified that Jesus was the Son of God as revealed to him. He told everyone don’t follow me. Follow him. He confirmed Jesus as the Son of God.
The Lord is Christ. “He (Andrew) first found his own brother Simon and said to him. “We have found the Messiah” (which translated means Christ). John 1:41
The Lord is the Son of God. The Lord is King of Israel. Nathaniel answered and said to him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel! “John 1:49.
Jesus is life. Jesus is the light. Jesus is the lamb. JESUS IS THE LORD!

There are still many in need of prayer for grief or illness. Let us lift her up every time we pray for comfort and a return to good health. Our country and our elected officials must also be prayed to to make good decisions that please God and bring glory to God.
