Oakland – Waste Management of Alameda County Inc. (WMAC) is trying to recruit Oakland residents for various positions in its East Bay locations and is launching a campaign to raise awareness of World Cup career opportunities in the area among city residents.

Oakland residents can visit wm.com/OaklandCareers for access to World Cup jobs in the East Bay, including positions in Oakland, San Leandro, Hayward, and Livermore. The company is also working with the City of Oakland, city development nonprofits, and local unions to promote the vacancies.

“Hiring local people is key to our success as a company and as an essential service provider to the community,” said Barry Skolnick, President of WMAC. “Oakland is a diverse, talented city and we hope we can use the local workforce to bring new members into our family.”

Waste management offers numerous opportunities for a variety of career paths ranging from drivers and mechanics to recycling education coordinators and executives. The company is committed to inclusion, equity and diversity and works to lead the industry in representing women at all levels and to achieve ethnic and racial diversity in every segment of its workforce, with an emphasis on leadership.

Positions offer full benefits, including health insurance, an employee share purchase plan, equivalent 401 (k) contributions, and various work-life balance policies (benefits for union positions vary depending on the current collective agreement).

In addition to job postings, the new Oakland-specific career site wm.com/OaklandCareers from Waste Management offers applicants advice on the virtual interview process and how to optimally prepare for the hiring process.

Stay tuned.

“We want candidates to be successful,” said Skolnick. “We understand that applying for a new career can be stressful. We want to try to help potential candidates right from the start. “

Note from Zennie62Medias Zennie62 YouTube and Oakland News Now Today blog SF Bay Area: This video blog post shows the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media, Inc. network for video blogging systems for mobile Media, which launched in June 2018, is an integral part of Zennie62Media, Inc.’s new and innovative approach to news media production. What we call “The Third Wave of the Media”. The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on the YouTube partner channel and is then uploaded and automatically formatted to the Oakland News Now website and social media pages created and owned by Zennie62. The overall goal is smartphone-enabled real-time reporting on site about news, interviews, observations and events anywhere in the world and within seconds, not hours. Now messages are reported using a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are required. The secondary goal is faster and very inexpensive production and distribution of news about media content. We found that there is a difference between mail length and time to product and revenue generated. This means that the problem is much smaller, even if it is by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve its system network coding and is looking for interested partners in content and media technology.
