Oakland Police are searching for clues within the 2011 homicide of Bianca August – CBS San Francisco

OAKLAND (CBS SF) – Oakland police detectives asked the public for help in identifying and locating the gunman responsible for Bianca’s August 2011 murder.

On her 32nd birthday, August’s family and the police made requests to bring his case to a close.

“She was a very loving and family-oriented person,” said her mother on a Twitter post from the Oakland Police Department. “She was very social and made many faces smile. My family and I still mourn our loss very much. We need our help to bring us peace and closure. “

At 4:35 p.m. that Saturday, Bianca was in a vehicle on the 2100 block of High Street when an unknown suspect fired multiple shots.

Officials responding to the shooting report were waved down by witnesses who said Bianca was taken to Highland Hospital in a private vehicle. She suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead in the hospital.

“We are asking our community to provide information in this investigation to find out who is responsible for this murder and bring them to justice,” said Phong Tran, lead investigator on murder cases. “The family deserves the closure.”

On Saturday from 1pm to 6pm in the San Leandro Marina, the family will host a candlelight birthday event and memorial for Bianca.

The Oakland Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering rewards up to $ 10,000 that will result in an arrest in this case.
