The reigning ‘hazard!’ Oakland champion robbed at gunpoint

OAKLAND, CALIF. –
The reigning “Jeopardy!” Champion Amy Schneider was robbed at gunpoint on New Year’s weekend in Oakland, California.

Schneider tweeted about the robbery to her 52,000 followers, saying she was messed up but otherwise fine.

“Hello everyone! So first of all: I’m fine. But I was robbed yesterday, lost my ID, my credit cards and my phone. Then I couldn’t really sleep last night and dragged myself around all day to replace everything” said the Oakland resident in her post.

Oakland police said in a statement they are still investigating the Sunday afternoon armed robbery and have not made any arrests.

Schneider, the first transgender candidate to qualify for the Tournament of Champions, won the show again Tuesday, bringing her impressive streak to 25 straight wins and $ 897,600 in winnings to date.

The game show issued a statement stating, “We were deeply saddened to hear about this incident and have contacted Amy privately to offer our help in any way we can.”

Hi, everyone! So first of all: I’m fine. But I was robbed yesterday, lost my ID, credit cards and phone. I then couldn’t sleep properly last night and dragged myself around all day to replace everything.
